Effective Frequency Range and Jump Behavior of Horizontal Quasi-Zero Stiffness Isolator

The quasi-zero stiffness (QZS) isolator shows excellent characteristics of low-frequency vibration isolation. However, the jump behavior caused by strong nonlinearity is a primary reason for failure QZS isolators. In order to grasp effective frequency range and mechanism horizontal comprehensively, dynamics were studied in following two cases. first case, subject base displacement excitation; second installed on linear structure that harmonic force. nonlinear algebraic equations describing steady-state response systems derived via complexification-averaging method, results obtained using expressions verified comparing method Runge–Kutta method. ranges then obtained, phenomena amplitude induced analyzed. show when excitation small, isolation system does not exhibit jumping relatively wide. With increases amplitude, can an additional impact load considered, this phenomenon leads narrowing range. produced cases analyzed, differences behaviors elucidated. Furthermore, effect parameters was investigated.
